Molten glass wound onto the end of the pipe from the furnace, already starting to sag the moment you stop moving it.
Four stages, one gather
Shaped while it's still moving. Not after.
Glass is workable for seconds at a time, cools, goes back in the furnace, comes out again. What looks like one fluid motion is actually four distinct techniques done in sequence, over and over, until the piece holds its shape on its own.
Furnace is hot today, walk-in demos run hourly.

Same gather, same order, every piece.
STAGE TWO
Marvering
Rolled on a flat steel table to true up the shape before it's blown. This is what actually makes it round, not the blowing.
STAGE THREE
Blowing
Air through the pipe expands the gather into a hollow bubble. One steady breath, not a big puff.
STAGE FOUR
Shaping
The final form worked in with wet newspaper pads and jacks while the glass is still soft enough to move.
